For today, it's just a little story (a true one of course) about the battle between Moneymaker and Ivey during the '03 main event of WSOP, it was the fourth day. This is fun, at least I had fun when I first heard of it at the time, no...I was not there in person.
They were down to ten, Ivey began with pocket nines, Moneymaker started on A/Q. He began the war by raising, Ivey called. Flop came, 2 queens making Moneymaker the holder of trips...he led the odds suddenly (12.5: 1). Phil remained in contention, a 9 came in the river. Christ bet 200,000 dollars but Ivey's hand was not a slouch either. Ivey had a full house, he went all in. The call came, the pot then was 1M big ones! It was a moment of pure suspense, very classic, very WSOP.
The hands were revealed, Moneymaker had a sense of deja vu...a parallel occurrence happened the day before with Brenes. Dealer revealed the ultimatum card, it was an A. Chris won...giving Ivey a very bad beat that he would never forget for a long, long time. It was a battle between 2 full house sets.

Watched Moneymaker on poker after dark. He looked very tired or had one heck of a hangover!
